Osama Bin Laden is dead. He was killed by a joint Navy SEAL/ CIA strike team last night.
First and foremost, I completely support our troops; I commend their efforts and I respect the sacrifices each one of them & their families have made.
I’m glad Bin Laden is dead. But I’m not taking to the streets, I’m not cheering or acting like fool over it.
What’s wrong with people?
Not just in the U.S., but around the world.

How to you think the Muslims who are at war with the U.S. and the rest of the world are viewing the U.S. right now?
The first word that comes to my mind is hypocrites.
Rejoicing, cheering and celebrating his death makes us no better than the Muslims who rejoiced, cheered and celebrated when 9/11 happened.
Also, taking to the streets in celebration of Osama’s death is basically asking for a retaliation attack. Osama is a Muhajid and a martyr in the eyes of Muslims. No doubt Osama needed to go; no doubt Osama’s death will bring a renewed “spirit” (for lack of a better word) for the Muslims to attack; but people in the U.S. celebrating Osama’s death is only adding fuel to that fire.
A Better Option
One of the best books in the world is The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey.
One of the habits is:
“Seek first to understand, then to be understood.” -Covey
It’s one of the most valuable life lessons I’ve learned.
I’m not a religious person by any means, but I’ve read both the Bible and the Koran so I can have a better understanding of their religions. After I finish Mein Kampf I’m going to read the Torah, then I’m curious about the Book of Mormon too.
There’s a saying in the Bible that I feel is completely appropriate for Osama Bin Laden getting killed, it’s to the effect of:
“Don’t cheer when your enemy falls or rejoice in your heart when your enemy stumbles.” – Paraphrased from the Bible
